Ham radio

I'm a bit of an old fart at heart, I like old man stuff...
One of them happens to be Amateur radio.

It's basically a means of communication via a radio...
not any radio, it must be a
transmitter (to send out the signal) and a
receiver (to hear the signal)

I have been interested in it for a while now, I think it is better than watching T.V or playing video games like most of you people do. It's not as easy as the internet, but it's also not as fun.

My call sign is VK3-FJAA

I got interested in CB radio only as a cheapskate way to stay in contact with a friend who's dad was interested in CB it. So I bought one off him, probably alot more than it was worth, but it kick started a whole new world of fun for me. After that I heard about this thig called Amatuer radio, wow, I thought CB was good.

It took a while for me to sit my licence and pass, but I got there in the end, only a foundation licencee but it's good enough for the time being.

I jump on when and where I can, and have a chat to other people, the furtherest I have spoken, by myself on my own call sign is Japan. I loved it, I ran over to Arie's house (Arie helped me get my licence as he is an Amateur only down the street from me) and told him all about it.
